Calm Palm Vapor. Get on board. Pierogi handles melodies and Secretwars is all about beats. This duo, based out of Chicago’s McKinley Park / Brighton Park neighborhoods, makes ethereal oh so fluffy and oh so good music. Strip away the synths and spacey noise and you’ve got solid pop confections. In short they described themselves best: shoegaze with a hint of Motown. Their first full length release, Morning Pacific, will be available soon – they’re slated for a big record release show at Subterranean on Nov. 12 but before that they’ll be at Darkroom on October 4 and Cole’s Bar on October 8 for a free show. Earworm: the one song that gets stuck in my head and refuses to escape. Today’s worm is courtesy of the always delightful Cee Lo and his new song “Fuck You” which is apparently a viral sensation even though the song won’t officially be released until Oct. 4. It’s produced by Bruno Mars who unleased Flo Rida’s “Right Round” on the world and now that’s stuck in my head so off I go to watch Fuck You again. Who knew telling off your gold digging ex could be so damn catch?!
