Tag Archives: The Flaming Lips

I have an unhealthy number of obsessions. Three of them are:

  • Late-era Beatles (keep your 2:30 minute songs to yourself);
  • Nels Cline; and
  • Wayne Coyne’s hair.

Here are all three in one jaw-dropping video.

Here’s a video that’s been sitting around collecting dust on the ol hard drive.  A few weeks back The Naughty Librarian and yours truly were at the Aragon for the first of a two night stint watching The Flaming Lips perform The Soft Bulletin.  This song.  The sappiness.  The last line that always slays.  Excuse me while I go and make out with the nerdy gamer in the next room.

Happy Hump Day drones! Some interesting videos in today’s roundup because I’m sleepy and need all the non-Red Bull stimulation I can get.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy & The Cairo Gang will release a new 10” single on Feb. 22 called “Island Brothers”. Proceeds from the single will go to the EDGE Outreach organization which helps provide pure water and education in Haiti. Below is the video for the b-side “New Wonder” –I couldn’t watch the whole video (it’s a bit intense) instead I just listened to the song which is simply is gorgeous.

Billy Ray Cyrus – the devil and David Lynch (hot movie title, no?) ruined everything – ummmmmm. Usually, I’d be all over this mess and it would be so entertaining if it weren’t so damn sad. Real talk.
