Before heading out for tonight’s ENE taping at Cobra I just wanted to post a video of the great Argentinian folk singer Mercedes Sosa doing one of my favorite songs of all time, Gracias a la Vida. The NY Times reports she died at the age of 74 after a two week hospitalization for liver failure and subsequent cardiac arrest. She was dubbed the “voice of Latin America” and was a true diva through and through. The Times article tells her story much better than I ever could. A great voice forever silenced, may she rest in peace.
