As part of the opening night festivities for the Hola Mexico Film Festival, Bostich and Fussible of Nortec Collective played Green Dolphin Street. Nortec played a solid hour long set of fan favorites like Tijuana Sound Machine, The Clap, and Nortena del Sur.  The crowd was with them all the way and kids were dancing all around us.  Then Green Dolphin blew it.  A friend went outside to smoke and was refused entry unless she paid the $10 entrance fee despite having a VIP festival bracelet. *side-eye* Then, exactly one hour after Nortec took the stage a disgusting fat bouncer-type went up on stage and began rolling down the screen. It was all so abrupt and confusing and we heard a lot of loud complaints coming from the people around us. There was no opportunity for an encore. *double side-eye* And if that wasn’t bad enough, a DJ almost immediately began playing hip-hop and R&B. Unbeknownst to us Green Dolphin hosts a “WGCI” night on Thursdays. There was a lot of confusion amongst the crowd. We bailed and headed to Cobra. I’m including a clip of Fussible & Bostich’s respective ‘solos’ during The Clap and a couple pictures. Nortec was fantastic (Bostich even stuck around for a few minutes and posed for pictures with fans). Green Dolphin – not so much.

Going to get my “way” on at this. WooHoo!!!
