I love Kinky. I really do but Saturday night got started off on the wrong foot. Some genius at Congress decided booking the g-dawful Mexican comedian Adal Ramones would be a good idea. It was not. Lots of older folks with lots of kids sitting in the audience. After about an hour of his nonsense we bailed to get some food and returned in much better spirits. Kinky went on at 11.30pm and opened with Hasta Quemarnos. Then all was right in the world. Despite not having new material since their last show in Chicago earlier this year, their set was solid and there wasn’t a bad note all night. Some pictures and video below. Also, I’m not big into cowboys but the bass player was taking me higher all night.
